About the role
Lab Technician II, Support laboratory customers and technical support staff by offering laboratory testing and services in the Microbiology laboratory area.
Responsibilities
- Support the Microbiology Laboratory: Equipment preparation and sterilization/Depyrogenation; Preparation of media; General laboratory cleaning. Preparation of specialty test samples and ordering of supplies.
- Perform Test Procedures: Perform sterility testing of devices and components.; Perform bioburden estimation of devices, components, and solutions; Perform endotoxin testing of devices, components, and solutions; and Perform identification of microbial isolates..
- Perform Validations: Perform validation of new products and test procedures.
- Troubleshoot procedures that may have been compromised, thus determining the potential cause of unexpected results of routine tests.
- Perform Environmental Monitoring: Perform certification testing of cleanrooms (particle counts, viable air, microbial count, gas testing).
- Documentation of laboratory procedures: Accurate record keeping of lab procedures performed and their results and Archiving of lab records.
- Communicates with appropriate technical staff regarding testing schedule information, results, or unanticipated discoveries.
- Redline documents and give supporting evidence regarding changes – work with appropriate technical staff on updates.
- If new test methods are needed or updates to stations, work directly with the support team on changes or adding a new station.
- Problem solves issues during testing and aids the support team during the investigation. Able to discuss equipment issues and product issues. Be able to address the complexity and interpretation of well-defined procedures and practices.
- Solves a wide range of complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices.
- Selects methods and practices to obtain imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to questions.
- Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive information or documents.
- Aid in new tooling if needed.
- Accountable for actions and results of testing. Responsible for GMP and compliance policies/procedures.
- Completes daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor on prioritization of tasks.
- Solves problems of limited scope and complexity requiring basic interpretation of well-defined procedures and practices. Follow all procedures for quality and compliance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
